After 13 years in Warren Township, my time as a Warrior has come to an end. For me, this is without a doubt one of the toughest things I must leave behind as I start the next chapter of my life. My freshman year began as we all came back from not only COVID-19 but also coming back from hybrid learning. Despite all of the setbacks that the Class of 2025 and I have faced, we continuously prevailed and took on the challenges presented head on. In the last four years at Warren Central, I have learned who I am and what career I would like to pursue in college.

Going into high school, my dream career was to be a high school history teacher. However, after joining the newspaper and yearbook staff at Warren, I realized how much I enjoy designing, editing and photographing sports teams, as well as creating sports designs. I enjoyed being fully versed with all sports offered at the school. Some of my favorite moments at Warren Central were photographing the football team from the sideline at both home and away games, as well as being courtside at Warren’s basketball games. Throughout my time on the Owl staff I started off as the sports editor and Editor-in-Chief-in-training under one of my best friends, Cameron Harris. I want to thank Cameron for teaching me everything I know about newsmagazines and for mentoring me throughout his senior year. I also owe my newsmagazine teacher Ms. Kaitlin Edquist a huge thanks for pushing me to be a great sports writer, and for allowing me the chance to shine and take a role as a leader in being the Editor-in-Chief of this wonderful magazine.

During my first year on staff, we were a five-person staff, and during this year's first semester we had 10 writers. This jump in staff members both made my job easier but also made it more enjoyable. Being able to form lasting relationships with my staff members has allowed me to be better at my job but also help boost them to their best ability to take over next year without my presence.

It has been a pleasure to bring eight issues of the Owl to you this year.

I could not have had a better staff, and I thank them so much for being wonderful in every way possible. I will, without a doubt, miss the friends that I have made while on staff. Thank you to Giovanny Alejos, Marissa Davis, Noah Hess, Xiomara King, Khadejah Rouldson and London Triplett for all the support you have given me. I hope you all enjoyed this year as much as I did.

I think it is very important for me to mention that, now more than ever, Warren Central students are looked down upon and are judged just based on where they go to school. We as a community should strive to beat the assumptions and the prejudice others will have against us because we are Warriors.

Lastly, I want to thank my Lord and Savior for allowing me to find a place that felt like home at school and for allowing me to find who I am and find my passion in this world.

Heading into next year, there will be a lot of incoming writers, growing the staff even larger. I am overjoyed with the amount the staff will grow, and I wish the best of luck to everyone.

Next year, I will be headed to Indiana University Bloomington to pursue an education in sports media and sports design, as well as minor in education. Who knows, maybe you will even see me back at Warren as a teacher one day.

For one last time, I hope you all enjoy the eighth and final issue of the Owl. As the senior issue, it features a personal essay about life after graduation, senior superlatives, a profile of Valedictorian Madden Beriault and a letter from Ms. Crowe to the graduates. We also feature stories about different styles of coaching, Mother’s Day and the spring play. I hope you all have an amazing last week of school as well as summer break. Thank you all. God Bless.
